2002 News
At the Tornados AGM Raki was voted in as the new coach since we are saying good-bye to Simon. Simon, who has been with the Tornados for many years, is moving away from Slough with his job so big thanks to Simon for all he has done over the years. Also at the AGM, Lydia Westcombe was officially voted in as Secretary replacing Mike Fay and Rhian Hayes was officially voted in as Treasurer replacing Kevin Barsby. Many thanks to Mike and Kevin for all their hard work.
Awards given at the AGM were as follows:
The Tornados have entered for 2 tournaments so far this season. The Glenrothes tournament in Scotland on the 17th and 18th November and the 2002 Summer Cup. They will be hoping to retain the SUmmer Cup after winning again this year. Unfortunately the new cup competition proposed by UK Ice Hockey received little support from teams and is not going ahead.
We are AGAIN Winners of the Scottish Winter Challenge Cup 2002
Just like in 2001 Slough Tornados have shown again the power of their team (on and off the ice) and won it again!!! Congratulations to Alan Gray (Best Goalkeeper), Raki (MVP in Finals) and Dave Tweedy (Best Defender).
