Iceland Tournament
Well, we got there on Thursday night with a lot of Duty Free drinks. Proceeded to leave them in our room and buy beer in the hotel at only £7 / pint. Luckily Stuey brought his credit card. Okay, this didn't start us off well but on Friday, our first game arrived way too early (19:30) ... well, we had to make a trip to the Blue Lagoon first. Anyway, we won 2-0 against Iceland National Team from Reickdyakfjavivjkvcick. Luckily, we got over that victory by drinking in a nice little pub in the town centre where beer which was a much more moderate £6.98 / pint - still left our Duty Free, untouched, in the hotel! Rufus managed to join us around 2:00am, just in time to see John "I'm in control" Hubbell stumbling and staggering out of the bar as Charlotte carried him home. Thanks Tweedy for plying John with wine.

The next day we started around 11:00 am on Sat and we managed to pull out a victory (I forget the score - your guesses on the back of a postcard please) against a new team from New Jersey - they kind of looked like Bon Jovi. We managed to stay off the booze for a few hours (except for Stuey) until our next game around 17:00. We won this one 3-1 which put us top of our division and into the finals on Sunday.

At this point, we decided to make use of the overflowing amount of Duty Free booze we had brought. Thanks to Simon Phillips for showing us the easiest card game to play (high/low - you figure it out) and thanks to Raki, Chappy and Charlotte for consuming the 2 1/2 litres of vodka and port ... and some 23 beers. Marty was a pussy ... Rufus was naked ... and oddly attracted to Marty! Stuey managed to offload some verbal abuse and then promptly passed out, fully dressed at about 23:00. We went out ... and I think a bunch of stuff happened... no idea what, but a gay bar and a tall blonde with severe cleavage factored into the evening somewhere.

We lost the final 4-1. Thanks to the Russians.

Slovakia trip report:
Slovakia 2003

Let me start this report with the final evening second to last of the team activities. On arriving back at the hotel from our last game we all got together at the bar. Each player and guest got up and made a toast to Raki and Bajo for the great time they had. I know this sentiment is shared by the whole team but I will reiterate it here. To organize a trip like this must have taken hours of planning and organizing and negotiating for our travel itinerary. Each and every one of us feels a whole hearted thanks to Bajo and Raki for there total unselfish efforts on our behalf. This was made very evident by the toasts. Raki and Bajo went way out of their way to show us their country and their town, and region. click here for more...
