Slough Tornados 3 -- Delta Airlines Indians 8
We were full of hope for the game
but when a couple of our top players were
unable to be there and there were rumours of a couple of the Indians players
having played at league level in france we knew it would be a tough match.
We came out hard but their skill showed and they racked up 7 unanswered goals before we got on the board, halfway through the 2nd period, Justin intercepted a pass at the centre line and went past 3 of their players before roofing the puck. This gave us a bit of a jump start and we came out strong in the 3rd, Justin finding the net again early in the period.
All our lines were playing hard but it was the 3rd line who capitalised on the play, with Tony Frost slotting in a close range shot off some grinding play behind their net and then a great pass from Mike Talalay. Unfortunately they scored again in the dying minutes of the game to run out 8-3 winners.
A great game from all the Tornados who played, man of the match (in my opinion) was Kevin Barsby, playing every shift with 100% effort.
